10.600 millones de dólares aportó a la economía colombiana la Comunidad LGBTI en 2017
Bogotá – Junio de 2018. El 1º de junio inicia en el mundo el mes de la diversidad y el orgullo LGBTI, celebraciones que coinciden con la 2da vuelta presidencial en Colombia. La Cámara de Comerciantes LGBT de Colombia aprovecha estos dos momentos que representan valores como sociedad; la democracia y la diversidad, para sumar en la agenda económica del próximo Presidente de la República de Colombia.
La Cámara de Comerciantes LGBT de Colombia representa a sus afiliados, desde organizaciones multinacionales, grandes empresas colombianas, hasta medianas y pequeñas empresas propiedad de miembros de la comunidad LGBTI. Todas ellas trabajan día a día con el firme propósito de hacer crecer la economía de nuestro país.
Los estudios determinaron que, en el año 2017 la comunidad LGBTI en Colombia aportó a la economía más de 10.600 millones de dólares. Cifra nada despreciable para el próximo mandatario nacional, que sin duda debe estar interesado en el fortalecimiento de una economía próspera y sostenible. Este aporte de la comunidad LGBTI representa 6 veces la economía de total de un país como Belice, 2,5 veces la economía de Barbados, 2 veces la economía de Montenegro o lo mismo que la economía de Nicaragua. Esta capacidad de compra e impacto sobre el producto interno colombiano debe ser relevante para atender nuestra agenda económica nacional.
En el transcurso de los años, la Comunidad LGBT ha luchado fuertemente para asegurar derechos en nombre de la equidad, desde la Cámara de Comerciantes LGBT creemos que la verdadera equidad y la posibilidad de cambiar positivamente las condiciones de vida de la comunidad recaen en el Empoderamiento Económico. Hoy los más de 5.000 negocios (y creciendo) propiedad de personas de la comunidad están dispuestos a jugar un papel importante en la mesa de las oportunidades económicas.
El más reciente estudio de la prestigiosa firma WITECK Communications, sobre preferencias de consumo, arrojó que el 75% de los adultos LGBT, sus amigos y familiares cambiarían sus preferencias por marcas o empresas que fueran abiertamente amigables con la comunidad LGBTI.
Es por esto que casi el 40% de la membresía de la CCLGBTCO es de empresas de propiedad de personas heterosexuales que quieren ser amigables con la comunidad LGBTI, porque saben que sus productos y servicios son mejores en cuanto sus empleados, proveedores y prácticas internas se parecen más a la sociedad en la que están. Esto también se debería reflejar en el manejo económico de la política pública nacional y sus instituciones.
La agenda que como organización queremos proponer se basa en acciones para que la comunidad LGBTI sea autónoma e independiente económicamente, se logre un ambiente económico más inclusivo, espacios laborales más productivos con respeto a la diversidad y libres de discriminación, ampliación de políticas económicas para la contratación pública y privada de Proveedores Diversos, y Colombia como destino de Inversión y Turismo amigable. Todo con el propósito de fortalecer el crecimiento de la economía nacional.
Por lo anterior proponemos al próximo Presidente de la República de Colombia la siguiente agenda económica, la cual consideramos relevante para ser incluida en el próximo Plan Nacional de Desarrollo 2018-2022:
1. En observancia al decreto 410 de 2018 (Aquí entran todos) establecer las políticas para garantizar que empresarios LGBT participen como proveedores de todas las entidades públicas.
2. Incentivar a que las entidades financieras provean productos para los pequeños y medianos empresarios de la comunidad ajustados a un lenguaje incluyente y protocolos de asignación que no violenten su orientación sexual y/o identidad de género.
3. Garantizar en todas las entidades públicas relacionadas que la atracción del Turismo LGBTI sea una prioridad.
4. Crear incentivos para las entidades públicas que tengan mejores prácticas en ambientes laborales diversos y proveedores diversos.
5. Crear incentivos tributarios a empresas privadas que cumplan estándares de ambientes laborales diversos y proveedores diversos.
6. Promover la certificación de las entidades públicas nacionales y regionales como amigables.
